For many people it is daunting to take the first steps to access psychological support. Before embarking on this important work, it is important to explore whether we would work well together. This will depend on the difficulties you are facing, my expertise in that area and your expectations for therapy. It will also be influenced by practical and financial matters, including whether you are free in the slots that I have free, and whether you have access to the financial means to sustain this work until we reach the goal that we agree for therapy.
Please familiarise yourself with all the details on the website and note any questions or concerns you may have, so that we can clarify these before we start working together.
ONLINE BOOKING WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM JULY 2026
Services offered
Initial Assessment (online or in person)
This in the first session of the therapy process, and begins the “Assessment for Therapy” which could take about three sessions.
Once we have met, we can decide whether the follow-up sessions will be individual therapy for you or your child/dependent, couple therapy, parenting support, family therapy or group therapy.
Book this for an initail assessment if you have not seen me before. When booking this initial assessment, you will be asked to complete and sign a ” Client details, Therapy contract and Consent” form. In signing this form, you are entering into a formal contract with me and acknowledge that you have read and understood the points made in the document. Do not hesitate to speak to me about any aspects of the matters raised in the document that you do not fully understand or that concern you.
If this is an initial assessment for a child or family, please note that I need both parents in the initial assessment, but not the child. If this is an initial session for a couple, I need both people in the initial assessment session. Please include the details of all the people who will be present in the initial assessment session in the booking form.
Individual Therapy for Adults (online or in person)

Individual psychotherapy is a useful treatment for mental health disorders such as depression, bipolar disorders, anxiety, PTSD and personality disorders. It is also helpful to manage stressful life transitions or traumatic experiences, such as relationship difficulties, parenting stress, academic pressures and experiences of crime or violence and getting married, moving house, divorce and career changes. Individual therapy can also be useful to learn communication and conflict resolution skills to manage interpersonal difficulties, in families, at school and in the workplace. I offer individual therapy, both face-to-face and online.
Please note that I do accept bookings on behalf of other adults. Adults always need to book their own appointments. Book this for individual therapy for yourself.
Individual therapy for a child or adolescent (in person)
Individual therapy for children is always offered as part of a family therapy process, which always includes all parents as part of the assessment. After the assessment, the therapy would include parenting or couple support for the parents, in addition to any individual sessions for a child.
Book this if you have already completed the assessment process and we have agreed on individual therapy for your child as part of the treatment process.
Couple Therapy (online or in person)

Couple psychotherapy is a conjoint therapy with both partners in a relationship. It is useful to overcome relationship difficulties, enhance intimate relationships or plan for separation and divorce. Couple therapy is offered both in person and online.
Please book this for a couple session, once you have completed the initial intake session. Please note both parties in the booking form.
Parenting Support (online or in person)
Parenting support is useful for those struggling with any parenting issues. Parenting support can be offered in individual sessions or with both parents present. My particular interest is working with adoptive parents to support appropriate parenting for adopted children.
Please book this for parenting support if that is part of the agreed treatment plan after the initial assessment. Please note both parents in the booking form.
Family Therapy
My particular interest is working with adoptive families. Family therapy addresses behavioural and emotional difficulties in families and focuses on developing skills, including communication and cooperation skills needed to optimise family relationships. It aims to support the family as a whole, or to support a family to help the individual member of the family who is struggling.
Family therapy is useful when families are going through stressful life events or parents have concerns about children’s behavioural or emotional difficulties. It can also be useful when children are facing serious health concerns, undergoing medical treatment, and for families going through bereavement.
Family therapy can also be useful for adult members of families, such as sibling groups, to resolve conflict or develop better ways of supporting each other, or providing care for family members, such as elderly parents or disabled or mentally ill siblings.
Book this, if you have already completed the assessment process and we have agreed on individual therapy for your child as part of the treatment process. Please book this for parenting support if that is part of the agreed treatment plan after the initial assessment. Please note both parents in the booking form. Please book this for a session of more than one adult family, once you have completed the initial intake session. Please note all parties in the booking form.
Group Therapy

One of the biggest challenges to people with mental health difficulties is feeling isolated and misunderstood. Finding spaces to share experiences with other people is often the most effective support available. Groups offer opportunities to develop the strength of interpersonal relationships and to get support to face daily challenges, whether individual, in our personal or intimate relationships and in parenting our children.
Group therapy is currently offered to the adoption community. Click here for more information about the monthly online adoption support groups.
Please book this for the Journeys in Adoptive Parenthood Support Group, once you have met me for the initial assessment session, and we have agreed that the support group is the most suitable form of support, or if you are a current or previous client of mine.
Please book this for the Adoptee Circle Support Group, once you have met me for the initial assessment session, and we have agreed that the support group is the most suitable form of support, or if you are a current or previous client of mine.
